Slight Vibration in 06' TJ

I have a slight vibration under my floorboard on the driver side. My TJ is lifted 4 inches. You cannot hear anything, but if you place your left foot square in the center of the floorboard, which is where mine sits when not working the clutch, I can feel a slight knocking/vibration. I think it is related to the brakes, but really am not sure. I have had everything double checked on the lift as recommended and everything is tight. It did go away for a bit after I had the rotors turned about 10K miles ago, but it has come back. It does not affect the way my Jeep drives, but I still would love to know the source or maybe where I should be looking. Any thoughts? By the way, everyone on here is awesome, I wish I had found this forum sooner.

Welcome to the Z.

I suspect front pinion angle or possibly a bad CV joint on the front driveshaft. Try removing the front driveshaft and see if it goes away, that would really narrow it down.

Thanks for the reply. If I am just getting in to jeeping, is that something I should attempt to tackle on my own or should I take it to my friendly 4x4 place? I've asked, but they say it is just a Jeep being a Jeep. Man, I love reading all these questions. You should have to join the forum when you buy a Jeep.

You don't have to put up with vibes.

Removing the front driveshaft isn't too bad, hardest part is getting a wrench to the 4 bolts holding the driveshaft onto the front output of the transfer case. Then it's 4 bolts on the axle yoke and it comes right out. Safe to run without it, let us know if it still had the vibes after removal.

do you have the rubicon? if not you might need to get an SYE kit. the problem my be drive line vibration. it could also be u-joints, pinion bearing or pinion angle. either way i would suggest a SYE kit.

I have a X. I keep hearing everyone endorse the SYE, is it that good? I only ask because I do not know. If so, is there one anyone would recommend in particular?
