Tire Size

[Operation 4x4]

Hey all,
I was looking on CL for some tires and ran across 4 Wrangler MT/R's. 33x12.5x15. The guy only wanted 100 dollars for them. Thing is i need to know if theyll fit on my TJ. I dont have a lift on my jeep and right now i run 31x10.5x15 Fortuna Scramblers. Just needed to see if these tires would fit. Also ran Across some Super Swampers, same size and all 4 for 600 bucks.

Let me know guys, all help is appreciated.

It will fit but it will also rub. Going from 10.5 to a 12.5 wide will also decrease your turning radious. A set of wheel spacers or a proper wheel backspacing should correct that but there will still be an issue with the body to tire clearance in terms of articulation. A 1 inch body and 2 inch suspension lift should suffice.

If the MT/R's are in good condition (not too worn out or beaten up), I would pick them up even if they did not fit...

Having said that, you WILL need some lift for them to fit properly without rubbing (or a lot of body triming, but I am assuming that is not the direction you want to take).
