Hi All,
My defroster has just broken my SECOND windshield glass. The original one cracked a couple of years ago when I left the Jeep running to warm up (with the defroster on) . This one cracked while driving. I put on the defroster and within a couple of minutes I had a crack starting at the bottom - same place - just like the first one. Someone at work said, "MAN!! how hot is your defroster?" - It's good and hot but it's not THAT hot. So here's my question (which I may have asked a few years ago- can't remember) ... Are the TJ windshield glasses flat? This one (a replacement) is "bubbled" at the ends - like, slightly curved. I thought the original was flat. If you stand at the side of the Jeep and look across the glass you can see that it is very far from flat. So, I'm thinking of getting an OEM glass if available. Or, getting one cut like I've done for my Military trucks and Jeeps. I can't see getting an other bubbly glass put in by the glass shop. Thanks everyone - John
