recently purchased used engine from midwestautosalvage
4.0 1999 wrangler But my engine number does not match oem specs my number is
XL556289 ORIGINAL numbers are in this config 801MX23
Does anyone know who made this motor

Is there a digit missing on the 801mx23?. i need at least 8 digit. that fist set of numbers are the last eight digit of the Vin #. originally bought from an Illinois dealership.

I was looking between number 4 and 5 and gave you the last 8 digets of the vin I found the correct engine number between 2 and 3 refering to sparkplug locations
they are 810MX30 the manual says first digit is the last digit of the year 1998
the next two the month and the last two the day of the month
how did you know it came from an IL dealership thanks
