wiring question

I'm going this weekend to pick a 88 xj that has a good body but it had an electrical fire in the dash so he is selling it for 300.. my xj needs a lot of parts so I bought it but I got to thinking... would it be easier to just cut and splice my good harness in the 88 or just put the parts I need into my 89 and just strip the 88 down and do a swap into it.... my 89s body is in pretty bad shape if that helps

Use the better one and swap harness.. keep 89 for parts!

don't splice it

when pulling the good harness have a roll of masking tape and label connections, that will make install in other xj a little easier ,
