Cherokee with stripped spark plug threads

my 94 Cherokee sport 4.0 has one spark plug whole that has real bad threads. can I just rethread the cylinder whole and put a plugin , or do I need to put a new thread sleeve in as many kits have enclosed? thanks Paul

its up to you. if you feel you can clean the threads and they hold well enough, do that. otherwise, oversize it or put a kit on it

Look up spark plug torque,ya might be amazed at how little is required,always finger of hand start to avoid cross threading. Turn them in 3 or 4 turns to be sure. "I'm"not sure what a thread sleeve is , but I've heard of using a "helicoil" .

thats what i was trying to think of, helicoil. used them in vws and they worked fine so they should work here too
