Jeep XJ 1994 central locking

I am in need of some help again please.
I have just resurrected a remote fob that has languished in bits in a box for ages. I have reassembled it with new batteries and the light works when I press the buttons.
So I thought it was time to try it on the car. We have two XJs and I don't know which car this fob came from.
As you might expect nothing happened.
I reprogrammed it as per the Youtube video and the light gave a double flash indicating it was done.
Still nothing happened, so I did it again with no success.

Is the receiver in the roof above the rear view mirror and where are the relays? All the doors work OK on the door switches which makes me think the problem may be with the receiver.

Can anyone suggest a course of action and what exactly can I check?

Thanks in advance
Mike

I have been back and done some checking.
The wiring diagram I have shows four wires connected to the module in he roof. When I took it down there were no less than eleven.
The four wires shown were positive and negative feed and one wire out for lock and the other unlock. Simple, I can cope with that, but not eleven and no diagram.
There is a feed, so I tried to marry up the remote again with no more success.

So I am still stuck. I think I might try to find another module and remote because I have no idea which one is faulty.

Best regards to all
Mike
