Found this jeep through word of mouth. Have seen it while driving by, but haven't inspected it closely. It is a 1981 CJ-7. In the last year this has been done to it.... rebuilt manual transmission, new back seat and seat belts, new best top bikini top and duster(I think), new driveshaft and u-bolts, new starter, new power steering hoses, new 35" tires. It is in great shape with no visable rust. Don't have available pictures. They paid 5000 for it a year ago and have invested 3000-4000 in it since. They are asking 6500.
What do you think would be a fair offer? Hope to take it for a test drive tonight or tommorrow. Thanks.

They paid too much for it in my world; $3,500 to $5,000 maybe $500, maybe more if pristine and with both tops (hard & soft). Spending money on a CJ is a labor of love, not an investment as you never get much of the money back with very few exceptions.

But if this jeep floats your boat and you are going to be really bummed it you loose it then pay what you feel and just live with the price. The true value of anything is what a buyer s willing to pay and a seller is willing to accept.
