Planning a Grand Canyon Trip

My uncles and I are planning a camping trip for this June. We plan on starting on the North Rim and hiking down. We will be completely backpacking it. This will be my first time going down but it is my uncles tenth time. I absolutely love camping and hiking. But anyways, has anybody had any experience hiking on this side of the canyon. If so was it fun? Anywhere to good to stop in the area?

Lenny, I live in Northern Utah, worked at the North Rim in 1959, made a trip to the North rim last summer. Didn't hike the canyon this time but after staying a couple of days i returned by way of Bryce Canyon, Escalante, Capitol reef, Bicknell, Loa, Castledale, Price and then west to I-15. lots of spectacular scenery and great camping opportunities along the way. happy traveling.
