My dad broke the opening that gos on your key ring, so I told him he could drill a small hole on the side of the key and put it back on his ring. Well, he drilled the wrong side and drilled right through the chip. Now his truck won't start. I told him to call the dealer, anyone have any ideas on a fix???

Cut and program a new key.

I agree, at this point the circuit board on the fob is already damaged and the transponder chip will no longer be able to communicate with the SKIM module.
