    Strange spark plug design

I have never seen any like this before with a removable brass end piece like this (I donít know the specific term for it)

They are from a company called BERU

My logic sense tells me this canít be a great design...I donít know why

I've seen them with screw off tips before, but I've never seen the brass ones.

I had assumed that they put different tips on them for different application / plug wires.

    Strange spark plug design

A really long time ago those ends came off plugs. Now they are making auto that do have smaller plug connectors for the threaded end.
They are solid. Loose with terminal nut and stud type

For your 98 Cherokee you need single platinum. 2000 and newer double platinum.

They were ordered for my 4.0 Jeep ZJ. They were recommended to me by the ďtechnical departmentĒífrom the vendor I bought them from.

I guess I will have to find out the hard way if they are any good or not

If they are copper they will only last 10k miles. Single platinum 30K. Double pt little longer. Iridium much much longer. Though you might not get the best mog off iridium as single pt.

Any fancy electrode design fails quickly and you misfire and backfire

Yeah champion spark plugs is what the Haynes recommends too.

But I change oil, filters and spark plugs once a year regardless of millage anyway

(or ďkilometer-ageĒ in my case...if thatís even a real word)

Iím sure there are people who think itís ludicrous to do once a year, but itís super cheap, itís preventative maintenance and it gives me an excuse as well as opportunity to work on my Jeep...which is something I truly enjoy.

    Strange spark plug design

Consider adding cleaning battery and terminal cleaning. Inspecting ground cables and ground connections at the engine and chassis.

Then cleaning the throttle body and IAC.
