I was going to give up on this one, though she may look in great shape she is hiding many a hideous things underneath. The undercarrriage is completely rusted beyond repair, a ton of neglect from the many previous owners took its toll. I rescued it too late
The 91 is an auto and that's way too much crap to change over.
I want to keep the 5spd in the 89 to avoid the pedals,hole in the floor and changing the good rad that's in it. Plus the colum shift linkage is worn to hell.
The way it is now its just easier for me to keep the 5spd. If its even...
Oh great! this is another thing on my list to swap, it just keeps getting better and better. Everything I touch on either my 89 or 91 is rusted to hell or seized beyond recovery. All this work should pay off with a little hill climbing!

Is it possible to make my own hole for the crank position sensor on the 89
5spd without cracking the bell housing. I've seen a picture some wehere here but I can't find it anymore. That person did and I would like to know how.

Thanks for your input on my issue. I don't know too much about these engines, will the 89 5spd bolt up to the 4.0 with no headechs? I've actually have been soaking many bolts in both vehicles to prepare for this BIG job ahead! Thanks again, Maybe in the future I'll go big V8.
