I got the steering box at good ol Auto Zone. It wasn't very tough. It is an 83 so I had to use lots of liquid wrench. If I had to do it differently I'd attach the hoses prior to mounting the box back on the frame. Real tite space. The spline at the end of the steering rod was a bit boogered...

I'm looking for recommendations on anti theft devices for my 83 CJ7. Once the crook gets inside the soft top with a razor knife what's the best way to keep him from taking off with the whole jeep?

Thanks for the tips. What I found was that my bro-in-law had taken the heater core out of the loop by joining the hose from the water pump to the hose from the back side of the intake manifold (next to the fire wall). Since the hoses were still in good shape I re-routed them to the top/bottom...
