I sand blasted and painted mine with several coats of POR15 about two years ago now. I have not gotten any rust or chips, cracks yet. It was tedious and pricey. Well worth it in my opinion.

Slow going with the disc upgrade. I have the hub, rotor and caliper mounted on one side. I am ready to put on the new locking hub but am unsure what torque rating the axle spindle nut needs to be torqued to. It is not covered in my repair manual. Any ideas? Dana 27 up front.

The Tuxedo Park is a trim level. There is nothing mechanically different from a standard CJ5 except the column shifter. Get a standard CJ5 mechanics manual from www.kaiserwillys.com .

Sounds about right. I didn't think of grinding the caliper but I think that will give me just the clearance it needs. The knuckle and caliper are just barely touching now.

Correct. Bearings were not fully seated. After alot if trial and error (and grease) was able to get the bearings in. Yes, I have new races to go with them. The calipers will not mount correctly yet because the backside is rubbing agaibst the oil fill plug on the ball joint. More grinding...

Thanks. I am a member over there. A lot of good stuff on both sites. I put the question out on earlycj5.net as well. I discovered that if i pump the accelerator two-three times before turning the key, it usually fires right up. Just gotta push some fuel into the carb i guess.

Choke works fine. I will check the accelerator pump and vacuum advance.

Yes I have the original f-134. I got an electronic ignition distributor from www.kaiserwillys.com . It is much easier to deal with.
