I have a 93 YJ with a 2 inch lift. I need new tires. I want to go to 33s. I plan on replacing the 2" lift with a 4" in warmer weather. I have measured 17" from center to see if they will fit and it looks like they have space, but not enough go hard crawling. So, the obvious question will the 33s...
The equation that I gave is a tried and true method as I work in a 4wd shop and that is what we use all the time because it does take into account tire height. but it does not count wear and tear so I normally round down 1/2 inch and it has always been very accurate over the last 20 or so years...
the rear pumpkin at stock height is 9 inches and the bottom of the rocker to the ground is 18 inches. So, measure pumpkin height then from ground to rocker and that is the lift if any. I have a YJ that I just got a few months ago and it has a 2 inch lift.... just enough to clear the 31s. Cheers
The XJ and ZJ for the late 90's are notorious for electrical issues. I have had XJs that it starts with the engine light and I wind up chasing gremlins for months before getting angry and building new wire harnesses.
