    2100/2150 swap via ebay

I bought this kit. The documentation is very thorough and this would probably be a good way to go if you dont have much experience with working on your engine, if you've swapped out a carb before, know what you're doing, and know which vacuum hoses go where, then you might be better off buying...

    Easy 44 Swap?

    Yeah, I believe an 89 XJ rear D44 is a direct bolt-in.

    got my DUI today!

It's a pretty sweet setup. I've got mine set to about 12 or so btdc. I'm running it with the MC 2100 instead of the weber, and havent had any issues with pinging. Did you cap off the vacuum advance when you were setting the timing? I noticed a difference when i hooked the vacuum advance up after...

    Spark Plugs MSD 86 CJ7

RE: Sunday Humor I just installed a DUI HEI on my 88 4.2liter, Performance Distributors recommends AutoLite Double Platinum gapped to .50-.55. They work very well.

serios ignition problem need help fast!!!

Who says you can't pimp a 'wheeler? If what you're trying to do is bypass the starter switch in then all you have to do is run constant power through one of the switches to the small wire on the starter solinoid. The ignition could be bypassed the same way, but you're going to want to make sure...

    Exhaust Dump Valve

RE: New To The Jeep Thing Saw this in Four Wheeler... http://www.dmhperformance.com/ecutout.htm Any thoughts? I suppose you could install it before the cat and then run a straight pipe so that you could get a little backpressure. But would it be worth the $$$? _____________________ 88 YJ...

    Lift Kit experiences

Did they ask you to sign waivers promising not to file suit for negligence? What kind of disclaimers did they provide with their installation? It seems to me that if they're conducting business in this manner they're gonna get someone killed. I wouldn't be surprised if most 4x4 shops make you...

6 cyl bbd carb stalling when stopping

I've read a couple of the write-ups, I'm just wondering if I need to track down a cherokee header or a 91-95 yj header...

6 cyl bbd carb stalling when stopping

RE: BABY! Gary, if I swap in a 4.0L HO cast head i would need a header for a 4.0, correct? I could still use the intake manifold from the 4.2, I think. So this would give me more options for which header to use. This means I would need to purchase a header for a 91-95 YJ? But the HO head is...

6 cyl bbd carb stalling when stopping

Junkpile, I got the 351 cfm carb and my ignition is optimized to the larger carb. How much trouble is putting a header in? Do I have to do much beyond pulling off the intake manifold and just replacing the exhaust manifold? I dont weld, so if that's required I would have to pay for labor.

6 cyl bbd carb stalling when stopping

I ordered a DUI HEI, livewires, and a 2100 yesterday. Can't wait to do the install. Regarding the 4.0 head, I just saw that Hesco came out with a new solid aluminum head for the 4.2/4.0, not sure how much they want but might be worth looking into: http://www.hescosc.com/newproducts.html Gary...

Differences between an 87 and an 88

RE: engine rebuild questions @ 220k - 4.0 HO (94 XJ) you should be able to determine which transfer case it has pretty easily: just crawl under the jeep and look at the metal tag riveted to the back of the case. It will say "New Process - Syracuse, NY" and in the center it will be stamped with...

Differences between an 87 and an 88

My YJ's registration says that it's an 87. However, it does have an NP231, the imported starter, the jeep badge on the glovebox and everything else points to it being an 88. The starter in the 88-90 is smaller than the starter from the 87. You should also be able to tell from the badge on the...
