Just to follow up, I cut the mounting tits off replacing them with a flat piece of steel to mount the radiator giving me a full inch of clearance fan to radiator.

I went to a salvage yard, told them what I wanted to do and they came back with the parts. They took the pump off a later model Wrangler and the mounting brackets wouldn't work so the hardest part was making the brackets. Mine is a 89 YJ so not all came with power steering.

I put gas in the tank hooked up the pump and it started right up. Must be a no/low pressure cut off which cuts the electricity to the pump and thank you it does not need to be primed.

If push comes to shove, soap and water with a little bleach and a stiff brush. I'm not sure if the bleach will fade the color but it should take care of the mildew. You might try it on a small hidden area. Thank you for your service.
