Leaking blue rubber gasket on oil pan

Thanks. My stepson said just tighten bolts, then re-torque them. Especially since the oil pan and rubber gasket is new.

Leaking blue rubber gasket on oil pan

Hello. I have a 1980 CJ5 Renegade with the 258 engine. It has the blue one piece gasket. I can see a film of oil collecting on the gasket by the front of the motor, by the fan pulley. It is not dripping down, but I can run my finger by the oil pan gasket and I noticed a thin film of oil. Should...

Thanks for the reply. I have one piece axles that the P.O. had changed out from the original 2 piece that it came with. I rarely go over 65 mph as this is my daily driver in the summer, and I plan on having it shipped by barge to Costa Rica in 2020. Any place where I can look up to purchase 4.88...

Thanks for the info. 4.88 ok. What do you mean by steeper, and why? My brakes are ok. Front disc's and drums in rear. No problems with stopping. I do plan on doing a rear drum upgrade with new shoes, etc. Thanks, Mark.

Hello. I did a 4 inch lift on my cj5. It originally had a 2 inch lift with 31 inch tires. I put 37 inch tires and they clear the front pretty good. No rubbing. It has an AMC 20 rear and a Dana 30 front. The rear axle is stamped "A" meaning it came with a 3.54 gear. The P O. I bought it from...

    CJ5 Power steering pump questions

Does anyone know what the actual size of the old cj5 (1980) power steering pump pulley wheel with the single groove is? I am restoring my cj5 with the 258 engine and I lost the whole pump and pulley during my move to another house. Was in a cardboard box that I can't find. I plan on replacing...

Hello folks! Sorry for not putting out any posts. I am restoring my 1980 CJ5 Renegade. I am putting in a rebuilt 258 4.2 liter inline 6 engine. I plan on keeping as much of it as stock as possible. My power steering pump is shot. Does anyone know where I can get another one? I need one that...

    1978 cj5 used hard top w/ doors

Hi. Just looking at your post. Do you still have the jeep top and doors? If not ok. Do you know where else in your state I can find a top and doors for my 1980 CJ5 Renegade? Thanks for your time. Mark.

Hello! I plan on putting a plate over where the mechanical pump would go on the new 258 engine. The TBI should come with an electric fuel pump. Summit has a Chevy plate that should work. Do you know anywhere else? I found a cast iron 2 barrel intake manifold for the TBI. I plan on using the rest...

Hello my Anchorage brother! (If you are still there!) been real busy up here in Fairbanks. Now I can work on my CJ5 project. Question: I am putting on a new mechanical fuel pump on the new engine. Do I need to use copper tubing or can I go with a rubber/braided hose to attach to the TBI? Thanks.
