  • hey steel, i was wondering if you looked at my post in the cherokee section. ive racked my brain and the brain of all my mechanically inclinded friends and they have no idea. youve gotten me out of a few predicaments before and i would greatly appreciate the help
It's ok I just felt like calling him out on trying to make me look like an idiot. Having a bad day at work, eh...felt like the right thing to do at the time. He doesn't realize what a fiesty little blonde I am....:)
The partial short you mentioned,is this something that i might possibly fix on my own / or should a mechanic
Thanks for all your help. I have desided toput new rebuilt engine in. Might not be the best idea but will get me to CA. Then hope will last another 6 years. Thanks again for your help.
Hi there sorry it's been long haul. replaced crankshaft position sensor and jeep still no start. I have so far replaced coil, distributor cap and water pump. This jeep is driving me nuts. Now what do I need to check.
Hey There ! I am getting ready to change my clutch and was wanting to know what all needs to be replaced so I don't have to pull it apart again later on ?
I bought my 85 cj in feb. I did brakes, body, paint, carb rebuild, ignition module replaced, distributor parts replaced, bypassed computer , new fuel tank, welded frame etc. etc. I have everything back together and it will start, but when you acelerate it studders regardless of gear or speed, and when you get over 45mph it stalls and shuts off. orig had prob starting it a few weeks ago so got new ignition mod., then replace old distributer parts, then got new fuel pump and sending unit, but I have a feeling that the info I am getting is false. I just moved out here and have no shop equip. here yet so I need someone who knows what there doing so I can just get it to work, I have some names of mechanics in the area but I come from a family of hot rodders and I know that you may be great with a Ford, but don't know jack @ a Jeep.
    hey,
I am in Spring branch TX.. do you know ANYONE who could help me finish my 85' CJ7 258 6Cyl? I have restored it, it will start but very rough and needs final tuning? You always have answers for others jeep issues, any advice would be so greatly appreciated:)
Sorry I took so long to thank you for your info, I was waiting for the jeep to fail again and for the last few days she started without any problems until yesterday morning. I guess the keys are ok, she done the same thing with the second key. The neutral switch checks out fine, so I switch the starter relay with the AC relay for experimenting to see if I can chase this problem. It seems the relay doesn’t click all the time.
Good news! My CJ is back rolling again...finished it today. The clutch is working and no more fluid leaks!!! Thanks again for your help!
