    overheating...

If the thermostat did not open wouldn't it still have heat? I thought coolant still circulated in just the motor. It sounds more like a blockage to me. Maybe in the heater core? or one of the hoses going to the heater core . I would guess those will freeze before the block.

    overheating...

Sounds like something is frozen somewhere. looks like you did some cooling system work. Or did you have it done? I would check the coolant and see what temp it's good to. I mix mine 70% antifreeze, 30% water. They do have some pre-mixed stuff, could you have gotten that by mistake and mixed...

    front axle question

yes, TJ and XJ front axles are interchangeable. Some of the XJ axles are high pinion, which give a little better driveshaft angle on a lifted vehicle. I wouldn't bother swapping a D30 for a D44. I don't think you really gain enough strength to justify the money. They will both withstand 33"...

my alarm wont stop going off

There is a little POS plastic thing that attaches to the back of the door lock. It makes a connection and shuts off the factory alarm. They break and fall off, so you can't turn off the alarm. There is supposed to be one in the passenger door also. Try unlocking your passenger door and see...

    Strange startin problem

I wouldn't think it had anything to do with the gas. I know it is a sealed system, but I don't see how that would make the Jeep crank slow. I would guess more the battery connection somewhere. Either at the battery or the other end. Maybe even the connection at the starter.

    Help needed! shackle reversal

Shackle reversal does make them ride better. That does sound a little low for oil pressure. But I would check it with a mechanical gauge. CJs are known for bad gauges.

    Chrome Rims

After you get the rust off. Put a good coat of wax on the wheels. I use a treated cotton that comes in a tin can. I don't remember the name of it off-hand, but any car parts store should have it.

4.0 Oil Pressure / Check Gauges

I would guess if your oil pressure was dropping to zero, there would be other problems as well. If it's still running good and the oil level has remained constant, I would first clean the connection at the sending unit. If it did it again I would replace the sending unit.

sounds like it's not getting fuel if it will run on starting fluid. Yes, the fuel pump could be the reason. It could also be something else.

    Help, my Jeep is sick!

I would guess a ground problem somewhere. I would still pull the battery connections off and clean them up.

    shaft or joint?

Does yours still have the front axle disconnect? The front driveshafts weren't balanced very well if you did have a disconnect. If you put a locker in the front or your disconnect isn't working you may have a front driveshaft vibration. I would try and isolate the vibration by removing the...

the jeep is acting like 3 year old

does the sound under the Jeep sound like "angry sparrows"? That would be the front driveshaft CV. the steering noise is probably where the shaft passes through a rubber seal. Spray a little silicone on it. The whistling under the hood? Was there a female Jeep around?
