    2.5L performance?

Had same problem a few months after I rebuilt my 2.5. It was a clogged cat converter. Replaced with brand new cat, ran great after that.

    2.5L performance?

Power the toggle switch off an ignition source. So if you forget to turn the fan off when engine is off the battery won't get drained by the fan.

    Xj Half doors

Correct; direct bolt on. Newer head should bolt right up to old 87-90 4.0L block. 87-90 head could be used, but doesn't flow very well for performance upgrades. 91-06 4.0L HO head flows better for both fuel and coolant. Some like 93-95/96 heads for best flow. A stock 91-06 4.0L or even a mild...

    Xj Half doors

1/2 doors look good on XJs. Donor doors are EZ to find and cheap. Cut up the donors to your specs and make some interior panels out of diamond plate or metal. You can add cup holders to it, arm rest, and it'll have cleaner body lines IMO.

Jeep 4.0L block, pistons and H.O. heads, Jeep 4.2L serp belt pully + Crankshaft + Rods = Jeep 4.5L poor man stroker motor. Tear apart the newer motor and have it looked at by machine shop. It should / may be rebuildable. Good used 4.0L are plentiful also. Stick with a newer motor in the newer...

    2.5 comanche

If your coil is weak you could upgrade to coil to screaming demon coil, or use a newer +91 Jeep coil with a performance distributors wiring adapter. 4.0 Firepower Ignition Kit Upgrade the filter to a performance intake or a free flowing air filter. A better flowing exhaust would help some...

    1988 XJ Exhaust

Have you checked for cracked exhaust manifold, Intake / Exh leaks, Clogged and restricted Injectors, Dirty or bad TB or TPS? Also, Look at the spark plugs, they will tell a lot about any fuel or ignition problems. Clogged cat and muffler generally bog down performance a little, but do not...

2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7L - looking for performance suspension, need help

Upgrade the sway bars for sure if you want less body roll. Upcountry springs are pretty stiff as is. Most stiffer coils, IE... Eibach or ?? will lower the ride heigth; Even more so compared to Upcountry coils. You could upgrade to a stiffer shock like Edelbrock or ??. Stiffer on road means...

    TJ hardtop to a YJ

Out here, TJ, and YJ tops go for about the same $$. CJ hardtops are lil $$ when you can find them. It would prolly be easier to sell your TJ top and find a used YJ, CJ top instead; That may depend on your Locallity to general population. Bigger cities may have more used hard tops readily avail...

95-96XJ, and +2000 WJ are preffered because they are the most bolt in style. I believe 93-98ZJ, and 97-2001XJ bolt in. You will need to modify, AKA Beat back your upper-outer cowl/firewall to fit it though. The booster is shaped a little different on ZJ and newer XJs.

    TJ hardtop to a YJ

This was in 2001. TJ 1/4 glass is flat. TJ rear is slightly curved. I guess a clear / tinted plastic window would've worked as it will flex a little. In 2007 I had another YJ and had a factory CJ7 hardtop on it. I also had a CJ8 Scrambler 1/2 hard top and bulkhead on it with the rollbar...

    TJ hardtop to a YJ

When I had a YJ years ago I recieved a free TJ hardtop with a missing rear window for my YJ. I removed the upper door weather seals and was able to set the Top on the YJ. Seamed to fit well. There are extra roll bar retainer straps in back and bottom of tub. Move the 2 to the windshield to...

    Xj ******* pack

Sounds like internal damage in tilt linkage and needs a switch. Switch new is prolly at least $20 by itself. Prolly cheaper and easier to replace column with a known good used colomn.

    Oil capacity...

My 91 YJ with a 2.5L took almost 6qts. That is after I busted the motor mount bracket (damn alumn bkts:x), then OE filter landed on frame, oil everywhere. When I replaced motor brackets, I added a remote oil filter relocater and larger filter. OE filter changes on 2.5L is a little under 5 qts.

    Xj ******* pack

I have in the past taken 2 complete set of XJ OEM stacks. Double stack 2 XJ leafs per side, less the one main eyelet leaf per side. Gets about 4-4.5" lift. It rides like a pickup truck when done, increases payload, and looses some flex. Make sure other leafs are not cracked or bent. If they are...

    Is All Wheel drive better?

If you are staying on stock gears I'd rec a 2-3.5" lift. 31" mud tires. If you cut the fenders or put on bushwackers, you should be able to fit 33"s with that size tire, but on stock gears with 33" MPG will go down a bit and may struggle a bit when crawling. Stock gears with 31" will get decent...
