Not really having any issues with the jeep, just running some preventative maintenance. I also belong to a Chrysler forum for my 300M and that is where I learned about Seafoam. I need to do it on that car also. Supposedly, it just helps keep things clean.

I know on other Chrysler products that there is a way to turn the key in the ignition when the check engine light comes on to read the codes it's throwing. Is there similar functionality on a 2001 Grand Cherokee? Thanks for any info you can share.

Not as far as I know. We bought it in the summer of 2009, so I am not sure before that but I dont recall having to add so much back then. I'll have my mechanic check it our as soon as my daughter is back from college on break this month.

Not from what I understand. In fact from what I have read, when warn they can negatively affect the handling and stability while driving at speed. Especially in a lifted vehicle. Google it and you will see it is involved in much more than "centering your steering wheel".

Put new tires on the Jeep and took to my mechanic. He found some looseness with the drag links and said that could definitely create some shaking when on uneven ground. Ok'd those to be replaced. We'll see how that affects the drive of the vehicle on uneven ground.

No worries, mud4feet! Just trying to get it fixed. I am going to get some new tires on it first and then if it shows up again I will begin checking other things out. I definitely know the value of these forums, I have been a member of the Chrysler 300 forum for years and it has saved me lots...
