Secrets of the Bubbacon reveiled!!! My 79 and my 86 had the same round fender flares, those are not stock Gadget. Tell the truth now. Its a wrangler with a CJ front clip. You were affraid of being shamed for having square lights. It's ok to be square as long as it's ONLY your Jeep.

    Rebuild vs. Remanned

Great thread and link!! I am sure Skyjeeper was trying to point out that 4.0s commonly pumps oil into the air filter system. Usually its only the pvc system has gotten clogged with sludge. I figure you have already checked all the hoses and passage ways. On that note, the 4.5 idea sounds...

    Strange "clicking" noise

Definitely try to retighten the flange bolts on the exhaust. After they heat up a few times they always seem to loosen a bit. If you can snug them when she is warm without burning yourself that always works great.

    syncromesh transmission fluid?

I know lots of mechanics but most work full time and tinkering on the side just isn't what they like to do. The Manual trans a transfer case is going to be the hard one. I believe Acme still does manuals. The axles brakes and steering can be just about anyone. Does he need gears or just bearings...

    Tales from the boneyard

If your Omni is the base model it should have the Volkswagen Rabbit engine in it. So if you ever need parts again look for those too.

    CJ7 Horn fix

Yes you have to remove the steering wheel to get to the next item. Remove the wheel nut and washer, and you might as well remove the three screws and horn button assembly. Get a steering wheel puller or prepare to beat the snot out of the wheel with a hammer to remove it. (Put the nut back on a...
