cleaning tip for soft top

I just orderd from jc whit a cab top/tonneau combo. made by smittybuilt.

does anyone have this, any problems with it? Just checking before I sell the old soft top.

Thanks any info is appreciated

I have it and I love it. There are so many configurations with it also. The only downside is that the tonneau cover holds a lot of water on it during a heavy rain and eventually stretches. You can see pics of it on my site. Have fun with it!

I went to your website, great looking jeep.
question, with the electric fan did you notice any fuel savings? hp gains?

I have an 89 wrangler yj. looks close to yours but mine is less manly,
for now.

with the cabtop/tonneau combo did you remove the rear seat? mine only folds down. would'nt be able to get to the back from the front would I.

I'm not sure of the config on the top yet.
thanks from a newbee jeeper.

If you're talking about the one that uses the factory softtop hardware, I had that setup for a while. I liked it. I do remember the water ponding like bryan said, but most of the time I parked uphill in my driveway. I ended up selling it because I needed to use the back seat once in a while and that was a pain in the neck. If you plan on keeping it on there for a long time go ahead and remove the back seat.

I didnt really notice too much of a gas increase but my top speed got better. I recommend it to everyone. I even have it hooked up to a switch so that when I sit and just losten to my radio, the fan wont run.

You dont have to remove the backseat for the tonneau cover. You can still have the cab top and back window on and still fit short eople in the backseat. With just the cab top on, you can fit tall people in the back seat.

No you don't have to remove the seat, but if you want to put somone back thereyou need to remove the tonneau and the rear window (if you want to be able to talk to them). Not to mention that the back seat takes all the storage space in the back up. It's a nice setup, but in my view it makes your Jeep a 2 seater. If you're ok with that then go for it. I sold mine and bought a Supertop.

hmmm..just a thought

I noticed that the bikini top that came with this doesn't seem to fit perfectly. I don't know if I am just putting it on wrong or something but if I take the windows off and put just it on, the wind goes like crazy on the freeway and actually like unsnaps the snaps and the things that go into the very front (I'm a good describer, arn't I ) like get pulled out and the top ends up flapping like crazy only being held on by the ties to the roll bar. Anyone else have this problem? It's like they made it a little to big because the top sags a little instead of being tight so it lets the wind play with it.

Colorado Trails...

You cant be talking about the sealed version. The sealed version doesnt leak unless you didnt install it right. The non sealed kind will really get you wet especially when there is a puddle on the top. And for the noise, it is the quietest top I have.
