California legal Carbs and Smog info?

I am getting an 82 Jeep CJ7 Jamboree from my dad. It does not have the original Carb on it and I think that is the only modification that has been done to the engine. I was told it has a Webber Carb on it. I want to know if anybodys knows if there are Carbs that will pass the visual smog inspection in Cali and if an original Carb from '86 will fit on an '82. I'm new to this whole thing and any help would be great!
