clearance issues

Hi all im having some problems with my 88 cherokee lerado .well im not a small man in 6'6" and im well rounded and i want to sit a little more comfortable i have the seat all the way back and my head rubs on the roof and my legs are kinda cramped. i heard that a 92 xj had a different seat bracket to change the drivers position is that true ? or would it be easyer to cut and weld my seat bracket...please help

Not sure man but you might just be onto somthing, I know my aunt's 00' XJ is a little roomier than my 88'

Manual seats sit lower than power ones and newer manual seats don't have the "rocking" feature I HATE in stock XJ seats!
