Can someone post some pics,or give advice otherwise pertaining to how I can determine which Dana rearend I have? How do you determine whether it is a 30,35,or44?thanks!My Jeep is a 2003 TJ Sport, and according to Jp Magazine, most of these came with 44's!How can I determine?

i would think that you have a dana 35. i thougth that only the rubicon came with 44 in the TJ. but dont quote me wait for someone else cause i am not 100% sure i been wrong many times before and many times to come

Captjanes, not all TJ's came with a Dana35, you could order your x-Sahara with a 44 and some of the Sahara's came with the 44 standard.

And coming soon (Dec) you can order your new jeep with Portal axles...

Thanks, all! The website link was very helpful, and it appears that I have the Dana 35!

Portals! No S***? I bought my TJ new in '01 and 3 months later they started talking about the upcoming Rubicon. I was disappointed back then, but have since built my Jeep to drive circles around a Rubi.

all 97 TJ's had D35

98-06 all 4 cyl tj's had D35, X's and sports the D44 was optional, the Sahara and 03-06 rubi's the D44 was stock.

Personally I would never buy a Rubi, for the cost of the rubi over a wrangler X (close to 8 grand), I would rather get the X and with the money saved, buy some bolt in 60's and an atlas.

Request your build sheet from Jeep directly from this site:
Contact Jeep

they will tell you everything that came on your Jeep when it was purchased (engine, transmission, axles, etc).
