can you turn the case over and run a tube from fill hole to drain hole and move vent ? want to use dana 20 or 18 or 300 on my wagoneer if it's chaep ? it's only a mud truck so can it be done. 74 cj to a 89 wagoneer . wagoneer have's 76 amc 360 82 4 speed or i can use cj's 3 speed .
but cj pass side wagoneer driver side.

why not just look for an older waggy axle, it will be a pass. drop. you can flip a Dana 300, plenty of kits out there, some people say that it's great, I personally have no experience, but it will leak out of the shifter boss. heck every CJ I've had with a D300 leaked out of the shifter boss when not flipped. if your set on your axle, I would just look for the correct T-case for your application. (Drivers Drop)

thank you but the t-case in the waggy is not strong i've broke 5. it all aluminum case and chain drive. d300 is strong and gear to gear.

Did you run a NP208 in it yet? NP229 and NP228 are whimps. NP219 is slightly better but the 208 was built to handle the 401. The aluminum case isn't the prob. It's the chain getting stretched too far so it skip and cracks the case when it binds up.
You could also run a NV241 OR with 4:1

241 is also the tcase for most 1 ton trucks with 2.72:1 low range ratio
