Gear ratio question

I noticed a sound coming from the rear differential of my 97 TJ Sport and I went ahead and opened it up. It turns out that there is damage on my carrier gears. It is a Dana 35 3.55 Limited slip. My question is can I swap to a Dana 44 with a 3.54 ratio without having to re-gear elsewhere? I know the 44 was a stock option on the 97 TJ but I am unsure if the slight difference in ratios will be a problem.

I have seen this come up on other boards with the 4:10/4:11 combo.
Pretty sure it won't matter, unless it's a fulltime setup like an NP203.
You don't go around using 4WD on dry pavement, since it can cause rollover with any gears.

3.54 and 3.55 are the same for all purposes. I don't believe the d44 was offered in '97, not until '98, but will bolt in all the same.

Ford 8.8 from a '95+ Exploder is a good option but you would need a bracket kit and somebody with welding skills.
