Hi-Lift Jack Mounting

I just got this tail gate hinge mount not sure if I like it yet though there's not much room for larger spare tire once I get my tires and it just doesn't seem all that sturdy and I also need to figure out how to lock it on my truck so it doesn't get stolen.... Any ideas r thoughts about this mount

Barbed wire and special gloves to remove said wire.

Do you have the option of mounting it so that its flat against the tailgate? It seems like that would help with being more sturdy. As for the lock, I use a bicycle lock. You can snake it through the spare tire mount. Mines mounted inside so I can just lock it to the roll bars. Maybe think about trying your mount in there somehow? It would give you the room for your bigger spare.

Barbed wire I like that idea lol but no that the only way to have it on that mount but I was thinking bike lock that's what I'll proly do
