Do YJ's come from the factory with high pinion dana 30's? This weekend I was out with a guy who had a 92' 4cyl YJ and it had a high pinion dana 30! He said he didnt put it in either. I just dont know why the owner before him would put it into a stock YJ. So do any YJ's come from the factory with high pinion dana 30's?

On my 95 YJ, is it a one piece passenger side axle or two piece????

Okay, I just thought that I read somewhere it was changed in 95. Anything I can do to strenghten it or eliminate the two piece shaft?

What a long drive that was

from what junkpile's post It looks like ya can... Beyond my knowledge

Warn alloy shafts that are made to accept the 297X joint. You're kind of blessed with the 95 model because you should already have the bigger joints from the factory. Those little 260X joints are what causes so much grief. Do the hub conversion at the same time if you're locked in the front.

I don't think you need the hub conversion when you have the D30 disconnect, I run a Lincoln Locker in the front without it.

All YJ's have the HP D30 disconnect.

All TJ's (except Rubi's) have the LP D30 non-disconnect.

XJ's came with both a HP D30 disconnect and a HP D30 non-disconnect. The HP D30 non-disconnect is a great bolt-in swap for TJ owners looking for better front driveline angles and more ground clearance under the driveshaft.

The YJ D30 is plenty strong, even the 2-piece pass. side shafts. If you ever want proof, remove the vacuum disconnect and look at the beef of the shafts and splines at the disconnect.

I never under stood why 95 was the only year ht eYJ came with the larger joints why could they not do that in the 94's? oh I have a 94 thats why hehe.

Nah, you don't need the hub conversion if you keep the disconnect.

Will the non-disconnect XJs inner axles swap into a YJ? Are they the same length?

Yes, the non-disconnect axleshafts will fit in a disconnect axle, but you'll need to change out one of the inner axle seals. I like the disconnect option and can't think of anything I'd gain by losing it. Makes a poormans selectable locker out of my lincoln locker.
