I measured my '84 CJ-7 bolt pattern, came up with 5 5 1/4, seems to me every jeep I've owned (which were older) were 5 5 1/2 ? had a friend measure, came up with the same 5 5 1/4 what gives? is there anyway the axles got swapped for some weird abnormal pattern? or am I using a Chinese measuring tape? I need to put some stock 14 or 15" wheels with the smallest tires I can find, on my jeep in order to get it into the enclosed trailer to haul north.. I'm 6" too tall with my 33's on 15's.. so, even thought about putting down another sheet of plywood and winching the jeep on with just bare wheels.. and cross strapping ..? HELP..

I'm going with 5 on 5 1/2, I think 3 of us measured wrong, and I've always used the 5 on 5 1/2 wheel.. so.. thanks for the info, you just made my other mind up for me..

well, 5 on 5 1/2 as I suspected is correct, now try to find old rims to use temporarily for transport.. all of the junk yards around here took theirs and welded them rim to center and use them to hold cars up.. luckily a Mexican tire shop up the road was smart enough to hang on to some, and also had some small throw away tires.. so, I'm in the trailer now finally, but didn't count on the extra cargo, 33" tires that should be on the jeep.. takes up room where my boxes were going ...
