Moisture in oil, ahhhhhhhhhh!

Ok, once it got cold where I'm at my jeep has started having water in the oil. I changed the head gasket, now all cyls are at 150+ psi, pressure tested the radiator, its fine. My coolant level has stayed the same. it has a weber carb and the tube to the intake is blowing air into it. I have been at this for awhile nwo and when the temp is above 40-50 it is fine. Help

Did you torque all the bolts back down when you changed the gasket? When the engine warms and the metal expands, it may close up the gaps, when it is cold it may be letting coolant seep by the gasket.
Hopefully the engine hasn't overheated and cracked or warped the head.

hey mattilus2121, do you do alot of short driving? like 5 minutes here and stop for an hour or so then another 10 mins there and stop for another hour or so? short driving distances will not let the oil fully warm up to the point the moisture will evaporate..... and if you do enought short driving and not letting the engine warm up it will condense and will cause mosture in the crank case, i dont know how much you have if its more than a cup of water then you got another problem but if its slight mositure like on the dip stick, then its not that big a deal, just let the car warm up fully and the moisture will evaporate. also if you have funny brownish yellow ooze on your oil filler cap then you deffinatly dont let the engine warm up enough thats build up from moisture and dirt from your oil.

I do do a lot of short driving, thats what sucks. I live in a small town and everythign is close and it is freezing here. When i do take it on long rides when the temp is above 40 or so the moisture is gone. But now I cant and its cold . Does the mixture rating of coolant to water have any effect on how much it cools the engine? I think i might have too much water... Maybe I should start with a flush. I already have the cardboard in front of the radiator and such. Thanks brother this is the first time using this board, I usually use www.jeepboard.com.

well theres your answer... if the moisture is gon after u drive it for a long while then your not letting th engine fully warm up and moisture will start to condense in th eblock. as for the coolant everyone suggest a different mixture of water to antifreeze but i have allways used a 50/50 mix its never given me a problem, if you use too much water it wont cool as well and if u use too much antifreeze it wont cool as well i would suggest a 50/50 mix

also how is that other site? i have never found a jeep site better than Jeepz.com there is so much usfull info on here that everyone can use, and everyon is nice... iv seen alot of ragging on each other on other sites and alot of usless stuff scattered around, this is the best site that i have found so far thats why i stay here... everyone on here is great
