My Jeep Is Wet

so There Is Rain Constantly In Masscahusettes And Sometimes But Not All The Time Ill Open The Door And Bam A Puddle Of Water.... Ill Take Out The Drain Whole And Let It Drain Out. But I Cant Find The Leak... Nothing In The Roof(soft Top) Or Window And Its Only On My Driver Side!! Any One Have Any Clue

What year jeep? My 04 had that problem for awhile. It was a rubber seal where the plastic door surround meets the tub. It was missing from the factory and after a hard rain i'd have puddles in the front floorboard. Took a while for me and the dealer to figure that one out.

Could it be coming from under the dash? If the drain for your cowl is plugged it will cause water to come in from there.

Its a 99'i pulled back the carpet and found no holes how would i check under dash?

Can anyone tell me if there is a drain tube for the cowl on a TJ (like on the YJ's)?

If so, then your problem may very well be that. Under the hood, near the center of the firewall is a tube which comes from the air cowl. It is fairly wide, but tapers to a narrow slit at the bottom. It will collect bugs, pine needles, grime, and whatever else the road or trail throws your way. Eventually they become clogged then water from the cowl dumps inside the Jeep insted of out the drain tube.

I don't know if the TJ's have them, but it is a common problem with YJs. Maybe someone here will tell us if you have one, but it is easy enough to check and if you do, you will recognize it when you see it. It will probably be full of real nasty stuff. Pinch spring clip, remove tube, empty tube, replace tube. no more leak.

Another thing to consider is I always leave my floor plugs (and carpet) out through the warmer months. It beats getting into a pool.

could also be the gasket b/w the windshield and tub - had that problem w/my old 91 (just like your's twisted!! damn the saharas were good looking then! if yours had the alloy rims it would be a clone of the one i got rid of - still kicking myself....) - anyway - thats another place water can get in but usually only when driving....

i had a similar problem but the water was coming in on mine where the windshield meets the hood(down in the little crevice) there were little cracks in the paint and it was right where the tub met the front end so it leaked through... couple layers of clear fingernail polish solved it for me... i've also had to clean out the cowl tube but i just lopped the end off where it goes down to a tiny slit so instead of a litle hole to get clogged it's now a big hole, hasn't hurt anything as far as i can tell

Cowl drain it was instead of takin it off my dad and i took a coat hanger and shoved it up clearing all sh!t out... clean as a whistle now thanks fellas8)
