anyone out there know which 4 hi selection is which on the np 242? first, or course, is 2 hi. Then you got the first 4hi selection. Next one down is the second 4hi selection, followed by neutral and 4low. I've been told that one of the selections is regular 4hi and the other is a part time 4 hi? is this supposed to act more like the viscous coupling on all wheel drive systems? at any rate, if anyone knows which selection is which and what the differences are, please let me know. thanks.

The 242 has the ability to run full time 4wd, it has some sort of viscious coupler, kinda like an open diff. then when you lock it, it connects the front and rear driveshafts together. It's a good transfer case, the only problem is that there isn't (or wasn't) a decent SYE for it, you have to do the hack and tap one.
