Pardon me if this comes out wrong, it's my first poll.
Lincoln Locker vs. Detroit SofLocker. First hand or word of mouth, what ever you know will be helpful. I want to build a TRAIL ONLY rig, so it won't see much road if any, I'll be running 39" Boggers on 3/4 or 1 ton axles. TH400 transmission with a Dana300 Transfer Case.

RE: Carter carb to Motorcraft 2150 swap writeup

Primarily offroad, Lincoln Locker is the only way to go. But it's only as good as the welder. Consider a spool or mini-spool for worry free wheelin.

Ya, do it only if your pretty comfortable with your welds. And, if you're welder can penetrate the metal REAL good.

RE: SPOOL LOCKER?/ 3/4-1 ton axles

Is a Lincoln Locker just a welded rear end? Do you know anything about the Detroit SofLocker. It's suppose to lock 100% of the time, as far as I know it goes inside the carrier. . . I think.

RE: Hard top and trans question

I doubt it's locked 100% of the time, the only things that do that are the Lincoln Locker, the spool, and mini-spool.

Yes, the Lincoln Locker is just an open diff with welded spider gears, basically a homemade mini-spool.

Re: Rec'd my lift today!

Weld it. If you don't feel comfortable doing it find someone who can. No brainer for something that will see little or no stert use. Why bother with a spool?
