i am fairly new to the jeep scene..and i have a 95 wrangler with the 4 cly.. i have added custom wheels and 31x10.5x15 tires and have found a love for trails and mud and large holes filled with water.. but every time i get wet even a little it starts skipping and spuddering like its running on 2 or 3 cly... i removed the distib cap and sealed it and ran a sealed vent tube into the cab wich helped alot untill i went fast through the water then it does it again.. after about 30 min it clears up... any ideas on how to prevent this

Here's a thought. how about letting the engine idle with the hood up. grab your water hose with a spray nozzle, and try spraying a little bit on different areas of the engine and isolate the cause for the sputtering.

Well i did as u said and found it was the front two plug wires... I sprayed water over them and it started spuddering.. It was dark so i turned out the flashlight and the engine bay looked like the forth ofn july so i will install new wires tommorrow.. Any sugestions on brand.. Thanks for the help

I have no recomendations on a brand name Ignition wires. a Set From Napa thats a high suppresion Wires will do the job. A suggestion would be to dab some Dielectric grease on all the boot interior. use a Cue tip to spread the grease in the boot. it keeps the moisture out of the terminals that eventually causes corrosion.
