You want to adjust the pushrod length until you have proper rocker to valve contact. The rocker will move across the tip of the valve stem as it cycles, you want the area of movement to be centered on the valve stem.
Check with your cam manufacturer and see if they have a detailed walkthrough on their website or in their catalog. Some do, I think Comp has one and I think Lunati had a good one.
