Quadratrac shifter

My '7 used the bulletproof Borg Warner Full Time Quatra-Trac transfer case.
Well, it was full time. I installed a part time kit in it some years ago and the kit utilized the vacuum shifter the QT originally used to lock front & rear drivelines together to engage & disengage 4X.

SWEET.
Except, My vac shifters have a short life expectancy. Shortly after I installed the kit the vac shifter died. OK. Jeep doesn't sell one nor does Borg Warner. I found 1 vendor on the planet that does for $135.00.

SAY WHAT !?!?!?!? Is that American Money ?
You Bet!

OK, I coughed up the 135 but a short 6mo later, again it failed. I reluctantly sent the guy another 135 vowing it to be the last vac shifter I'll ever buy.

Well, it just failed. I kept the old one and have it in pieces in my shop. I am in the process of modifing it into a manually operated shifter.

FINALLY,
to get to the point of this plea for help,

>Anyone else have a QT ?

>Do you still used the Vac Shifter ?

>does your fail as often as mine ?

>Have you replaced it with something else ?

>Anyone sell and electric like all those sissy SUV shift on the fly, mall wheel drive trucks use ?

>I think an electric door lock solenoid will also work.
