Question about body lift

I'm gonna be doing my temporary 3" body lift hopefully next week. It was supposed to be done over a week ago but I got the lift on special and it was back ordered. Just wondering if there's anything else I have to do besides the lift itself, the steering column and trimming the fan shroud. I've heard I might have to lengthen my gas tank filler hose.

may have to do all three.. might have to cut the floor away for the shifter and/or adjust the Tcase linkage

nah, don't need to cut away the floor. You may want to adjust the 4X shifter, only because it wants to pop out of 4lo every once in a while. You might have to da all 3, or you might have to do none of them.

WIth my one inch t case drop and one inch body lift I had to cut the floor pan back. If you have a tcase drop you WILL have to cut the floor. Or just not use 2nd, 4th or reverse.

Gotta move my Jeep 2000 miles

I don't remember having to cut the floor in my 93 with a 3"BL and 1"Tcase drop.

I may have bad luck but I have NEVER had a body lift go on without some sort of problems. Wrong bolts, broken bolts, missing parts......

I have a t-case drop so it looks like I'm gonna have to cut the floor pan. What about the rubber shifter boot? When I had a body lift in my truck, the shifter boot was too tight because the shifter is lower which means the boot has to move even more. I ended up finding another larger boot.

Well, I don't always have the best memory, but I can't recall cutting the floor on my Jeep when I put on my 3" body lift. I didn't cut it when I did my t-case drop either. Or, when I did any other mods. All I had to do in that area is adjust the 4x4 shift knob (which didn't even need that much adjusting).

IVe installed 2 - 2" Body lifts (one with a 1" tcase drop),and have never had to notch the floor - but now I have a real short shifter - one day I will weld in an extension piece to legnthen it back out. But as said before something will go wrong ie)frozen bolts etc. Watch the steering shaft, it rubs some parts around it with the lift on.

Ok, so here's another question. If I install a motor mount lift, it should help prevent the shifter from hitting the floor pan. How much of a motor mount lift can I install that I can leave in after I take the body lift out since it's only a temporary lift. I'm also considering cutting the 3" body lift down to 1" after the spring over so I can do a belly up mod.

Can't remember exactly how much mine is raised (engine), but I just raised the front of it only. I just did that to straighten out the driveline a little, and I still have no shifter problems, even with about 8 inches of lift

I just took a look at my motor and I only see two motor mounts...one on each side of the motor.

Guess I worded that wrong, I pulled the back of it down, transmission and everything. So I guess you could say I lowered the transmission?? Whatever...the engine sits higher in the front and lower in the back, and still no shifter problems-guess that is what I was getting at

Thats wierd that you guys never had to cut your floor pan. I wonder why I had to cut mine... The instructions said I would have too, and before I cut it I could not use 2nd, 4th or Reverse... Maybe my jeep just sucks...
