Re: '99 Grand Cherokee tire sizes

We will be getting a '99 Grand. for wife' daily driver / familly vehicle. Previous vehicles in this role have been two Cherokees , '96 Grand , and (albeit non Jeep) S10 Blazers . This (and previous vehs) are also used for moderate wheeling when wishing more room or creature comforts than CJ-7 , and tow duty.

Previously had a formula has always been stock ht , stock rims , and 235/75s of suitable tread.

But this one uses 16in tires !what sizes do I go with. On it , and apearently orig size is 245/70-16 . By eyeball and intuition I would guess that 245/75 or 255/70 would work. What is scoop on 265s ? Yes/ no ? Sort of but rubs ?

The now discontinued Dunlop Rover RV would be my ideal choice ( similar off road to BFG A/T , less noise, better wear). In these 16in sizes is there anything that stands out in the general concept of " more traction than Wrangler AT/S , less noise than BFG " ?
