So I had to come to the decision to get rid of the XJ. I will post a for sale sign up here soon, but my wife has talked me into a 2003 Liberty, which she will let me have, because its newer, low miles, and still has a warranty. I know i will catch some flack for the Liberty (unsure of letter designation), but i only need the Jeep for 3-4 years before I move to Cali and have to but a Jeep with Cali emissions. But I am going to miss my XJ dearly. So long bernadette have a good life.

P.S. look in the sale section for details.

remember the warranty is shot once you do anything even remotely cool with it ;-)

lol. I hear ya. Mostly looking to take my 1 year old to the beach for now, but once the warranty is out, 2 years left, i have 1 - 2 years to play and do more cool stuff again. Probable just get some ncer tires for now since that shouldn't effect warranty.

Just a quick note you can get a cali exemption on your 96 since your moving a 10 year old vehicle into California

Oooh, sorry to hear that :( Not that I have anything against the liberty (KJ), but there's no force on earth that would make me give up my XJ.

Maryland to cali, huh? That's a heck of a relocation.

Yeah, but my wife is from L.A. and thats where all the family is. I don't have any family here. We want to go to northen Cali (Modesto) so we would be approx 5 hours from family. Not that we want to be that far, but cost of living is much cheaper there. We can actually get a house for 450,000. In L.A. we could get a shack for 750,000. Thats 2 bedrooms 1 bath and kitchen/ livingroom combo without driveway never mind a garage.

Good Lord!!! $750,000 would buy a 10 bedroom, 5 bath, two dining room, family room, great room, den, game room, study, sun room, full finished basement, and a 4 car garage on 25 acres here!!!!!!

Yeah So Cal is way too expensive. Norhtern Cali is nice and weather is similar to what we have here on the Eastern Shore of MD without the humidity.
