Starting to get SOA fever

Full story with pics of BBJ's loss

After work today, I couldn't help it. I had to buy SOMETHING for the SOA... I was going to purchase spring perches, they seemed inexpensive enough.... But I don't like buying anything if i can make it, just the MAN in me having to do it. Plus, at $20/pair plus shipping, $55 doesn't seem so cheap.

I bought some 2.5" 3/16 wall square tubing... 4 sections cut at 6" each. I think $8 will turn out to be a much easier investment than $55... And I get to cut and grind... I love metal work

Who can suggest what I could get next... I've got a mere $60 I can spend on SOMETHING... I have it extra after all expenses from this paycheck... I only want to get the crutials right now.. don't need shocks and such, I only want to get what I ABSOLUTELY need right now to get it up and trailworthy. There is a HUGE car show coming up, and I need to get my driver side tire up on someone else's tire for a pose for the show

You can usually get perches at local speed shops for $15 a pair.
$60 bucks won't go far. How about some poly bushings for the springs? Maybe some brake line extensions or some junk yard shock towers for the front.

i might get line extensions.. thats what i was thinking... i'll be adapting my front towers to accept eyelet style shocks

and the only speed shop around here is a rice shop... they don't even know what leaf springs are

That's not a bad idea there... I don't know why I didn't think of that one

Did you want the 2 degree wedges too? For both the new u bolts and wedges $33 shipped

yeah i'll be getting a new pitman for about $36 from autozone... and i don't need shims, only the ubolts... but if it is a package deal, then i'll see what i can get ubolts for here and compare

i'll be making a traction bar, tracbar relocator, perches, bla bla.. most of the parts will be from my "shop"

Ive got 3 sets of bump stops for a YJ. They are made by daystar. (dont even ask)
