Steering Box Bolt

When I removed my steering box, I broke one of the bolts in the housing. This was after it was soaked in PB Blaster. I have been fighting with it for a couple days, a couple hours each day, trying to get this done on my own, but I give up, and submit to Jeepz.com for help. I have drilled and drilled. I have a pretty good size hole all the way through, but it won't loosen. I bought some of those screw extractors, and they were junk. I have tried everything I can think of and it still will not come out. What the heck can I do? Should I just go without this bolt? Its the one that bolts to the bracket, closest to the fluid lines.

Lockers

If you know the bolt size, drill it out to just under the min. thd. dia. and pick the threads out. Or you can drill it oversize and put a helicoil in. I like using all the bolt locations. Hope this helps.

RE: Mechanic list?

is any of the bolt sticking out? If so you could weld another head on it... If you have a welder that is.

Nope, it's clean on the face. It was sticking out the back, and I ground it down on the sides to grab it with a wrench, but that sheered off too.
