May give those Taiwanese Lock Ring pliers a test tonight and report their usefullness and durability in the morning.

Removed all the Lock Rings and Rear Bearing Retainer (that was a bear to remove) those pair of Lock Ring pliers work okay though so far.

May start on front end tonight if I'm up to it.

Pulled the Lock Ring and Bearing Retainer on the fron side and like the Output Shaft, the one for the Input shaft was stuck on one side when it finally gave way it took a small chunk of the Input Shaft with it :x

Got my Tremec Manual today!!:verry-happy:
Now the trouble is now I need to find a clamshell or other puller that'll work for
pulling these bearings.

Well, I found this thing on HF and given my experience with tools from them I'm dubious. On the other hand I can't afford to drop $300 for two bearings.

I have that set from HF. It's not a bad tool, but not great either. Do you have a floor press or compressor that can run a air hammer?

I have used a air hammer with a blunt tip to drive the shaft from the bearing in the past. You need either the gearbox casing to support the gear from the input/output shaft or use the hammer along with a bearing separator. Just a little trick I learned from Moses Ludel.

that's funny you mention Moses Ludel, I found a site the other day that he is a member on. Cant remember what site It was though.

Well I decided not to purchase a puller that I may only use twice. So from a friend that owns a local shop I got a reccomendation to speak with the local Aamco manager. As it turned out they pulled the bearings, and for free! Now I can get going on the inspection, when I have time~HAH
