Hey y'all I was wondering if anyone knew if this would fit my '77 AMC 360

Yeah, it will fit all AMC V8s from 67-91.
Don't buy it unless you can return it if it doesn't work right. Alot of problems have been seen with the aftermarket timing covers.....but there isn't alot of choice, so the biggest thing is to buy from someone who will stand behind the product.

Well, I went to pick it up and it has no cracks and is the proper modle for my jeep, but the idiots spray painted it silver! and I think they used regular spray paint too. once that is removed and I get her put back together.... SHE'LL BE A RUNNIN'

Yep, out of an early 80's Waggy, they had the frame, axles and motor (most of it anyway) sitting behind their shop.... I just found a D44 for me cheap they don't know what they have!

I like how they painted the oil seal and everything.
One word of caution, these things are made of aluminum which is a poor material to use considering that part of the housing is the case for the oil pump gears. Unbolt the area that has the oil filter mount. I think there are 4 bolts there. Take the oil pump gears out and look at the inside of the pump walls. If they are scratched then the entire unit is junk. Sure it might work when you bolt it up, but chances are that it will never make 40 psi oil pressure. Probably closer to 10-15 psi.
Four Wheel parts has one of the cheaper aftermarket units and I think they are about $250.

How to dispose of hardtop?
I still have the gears for the oil pump, they are still good, and yeah.... cheap being $250.... my wallet already hurts with a child and wife.... diapers are a little more important, but thank you VERY much for the warning.... Yeah the whole thing is scrap if the pump housing wall is really scarred up. There isn't a practical fix for it. Maybe 3 out of 5 used ones will be what you would consider "good enough" for an engine that you care about, and at least one of those three will be borderline.......or maybe I just mess with junk too much, and need to use better parts :lol:
