TJ 1997 - interior and bonnet lights wont go out after closing doors.

Please help!!

I have a Jeep Wrangler 2.5 Sport '97 (right hand drive). Following a rather bad storm the interior light on the sound bar; foot well lights and the light under the bonnet will not go out when the doors are closed. I have waited in case it drys out, but no luck there. I have had to take all four bulbs out so the battery does not go out.

If anyone has any suggestions on how this problem my be rectified I would be most grateful.

Either the switch on the headlamp is turned to the on position or there is a short in the switch. There are two sources of 12v to the dome lamp circuit; a 10amp fuse on the PDC under the bonnet and a 10amp fuse on the fuse block behind the glovebox. Pull one of the fuses and see if the dome shuts off. Verify that the dome overide switch is in the OFF position.
