Transfer case drop.

I currently put a 4 inch suspension lift on my 89 yj. I left off the transfer case drop kit. I plan on doing a sye kit so I was wondering if I still need to put on the t case drop kit.

If you can't feel a vibration in the drivetrain after putting on the lift, you should be fine without it.

Just check at full droop that your u joints don't bind up. And if there's no vibes should be ok.

after, if you are putting the sye now, if its going to be later, then check for vibes now

YJ 4" lift requires a transfer case drop if no sye is installed. Once you install a sye kit, you remove the transfer case drop and point the rear pinion upward inline with the driveshaft.

The rear pinion angle should be 1 to 2 degrees below center line of the driveshaft..This is because when you accelerate the pinion will then be in line with the driveshaft, if you don't have it pointing slightly lower the pinion will be trying to pull the driveshaft out and that can cause binding and or vibration on acceleration.
