Transmission removal

I'm pulling the transmission out of my 91 YJ. I can't get the transmission to separate from the block is there a trick? I removed the 3 small screws on the bottom half that go to the dust cover thing. The two large bots on the bottom that don't seem to do anything for the size of them. The two large bolts that go into the engine block about mid way up. There are two very small bolts on the top. DO THESE HAVE TO COME OUT?

boy if transmission removal didnt include the pain in the ass top bolts it would make it so much easier LOL ... i think GM's are the worse IMO but i've never dropped the transmission in a jeep so cant compare haha good luck though

The top bolts are usually external torx, best to replace them with standard 6pt. bolts during reassembly. I generally lower the rear of the transmission as much as possible to get a socket extension on them (with socket ujoints/flexjoints).
