I was wondering if anyone ever had any type of rust proof coating applied to the undercarriage of their jeep, or is it fine the way it came through from the factory. [addsig]

I just have a thick layer of mud on the bottom of my TJ. As far as undercoating, I would say, it depends where you live (snow, salt and such.) They say factory undercoating is enough, but then, why are these undercoating companies (like Ziebart) in business???[addsig]

Factory undercoating might be enough in the south... but CERTAONLY not enough for the north.... every vehicle up here falls apart due to rust becaues of the winter months[addsig]

The hardest part would be getting the grim off prior to putting a good under coat on. But I bet any of the roll on coatings would be the trick! Just a thought but I wonder if there is a way to spray on the roll on stuff. Huh!!!!!! Tug [addsig]

Duplicolor makes a heavey duty undercoating that is readily available at autozone, cheap, and easy. living in the salty northeast, I undercoat wheel wells and undercarrige once every year!
